From Downtown Pittsburgh: Liberty Avenue is a main downtown thoroughfare which runs parallel to the Allegheny River (approx. 2 blocks from the river itself). Take Liberty- headed away from the Point area and Downtown- to 26th Street. Turn left on to 26th and we are just 1 block away at the corner of Penn & 26th in the Strip District.
From North of Pittsburgh:
From Distant Points North (i.e. Butler, Erie): Take I-79 South to the junction with I-279, and follow I-279 South towards Pittsburgh. Take Exit 8A on to I-579 (the Crosstown Blvd.) and the Veteran's Bridge. Once on the Veteran's Bridge, get in the right lane, and follow the first exit for Seventh Street. At the end of the exit ramp turn right on to 7th Street. Proceed 1/2 block to the light and turn right on to Grant Street. Proceed 1 block and Grant Street will merge into Liberty Avenue (keep going straight). Once on Liberty, proceed to 26th Street. Turn left on to 26th, and Carlisle's is just 1 block away at the corner of 26th & Penn Avenue in the Strip District
From the North Hills: Get on I-279 at the McKnight Road entrance, and follow I-279 South towards Pittsburgh. Take Exit 8A on to I-579 (the Crosstown Blvd.) and the Veteran's Bridge. From Fox Chapel & Route 8: Take Route 28 South towards downtown. Turn left on to the 31st Street Bridge. Just across the river, turn right at the stoplight at Penn Avenue. Proceed 5 blocks to the corner of 26th Street & Penn, and the store will be on your right.
From East of Pittsburgh:
From Distant Points East (i.e. Greensburg): Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike West to Exit 6 (Monroeville). Follow I-376 (Parkway East) toward Pittsburgh. {follow directions "From Monroeville & Communities to the East"- below}
From Monroeville & Communities to the East: Take I-376 (Parkway East) toward Pittsburgh. Follow the exit signs for I-579. Take the 7th Avenue Exit- turn right off the exit ramp. Proceed 1 block to the stoplight at Grant Street- turn right on to Grant St. Take Grant Street just a short distance to its end, a stoplight at Liberty Avenue. Bear to the right on to Liberty Avenue and proceed to 26th Street- turn left on to 26th Street, and Carlisle's is just 1 block away at the corner of Penn Avenue & 26th.
From South of Pittsburgh:
From Distant Points South (i.e. Washington (PA), Morgantown & Wheeling (WV)): Take I-79 North to the Pittsburgh Exit, where you will get on to I-279 (also known as the Parkway West) headed toward Pittsburgh. Follow I-279 until you go through the Fort Pitt Tunnels and immediately emerge from the tunnels on the Fort Pitt Bridge. Once on the bridge, follow the signs for Liberty Avenue, and take Liberty through the downtown area to 26th Street. Turn left on 26th Street, and we are just 1 block away on the corner of 26th Street & Penn Avenue.
From the South Hills: Take Rt 51 throught the Liberty Tunnels and across the Liberty Bridge. Follow the signs for I-579. Take the 7th Avenue Exit- turn right off the exit ramp. Proceed 1 block to the stoplight at Grant Street- turn right on to Grant St. Take Grant Street just a short distance to its end, a stoplight at Liberty Avenue. Bear to the right on to Liberty Avenue and proceed to 26th Street- turn left on to 26th Street, and Carlisle's is just 1 block away at the corner of Penn Avenue & 26th.
From West of Pittsburgh:
From Distant Points West (i.e. Youngstown (OH)): Take I-76 (Penna. Turnpike) east to Exit 3 (Wexford). Follow Rt. 19 South for just a couple of miles, and turn on to I-79 South. Once on I-79 South, proceed appox. 5 miles to the junction with I-279 South. Take I-279 South toward Pittsburgh. { follow directions for "From the North Hills" above}.
From Airport & Communities to the West: Take the "Parkway West" I-279S toward Pittsburgh. Once you pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnels and emerge on to the Fort Pitt Bridge, follow the signs for Liberty Avenue. Take Liberty through downtown to 26th Street in the Strip District. Turn left on to 26th, and Carlisle's is just 1 block away on the corner of 26th and Penn Avenue.
